This wine has depth and layers that continue to an extremely long finish. The blend offers a striking combination of textural richness and freshness. The nose is delicate and appealing. Lovely!

I love Chinon with all my heart. Specifically, it’s pretty light and lively. In the aroma of plums, beets, tobacco, cabbage. There is a little earth in the taste and a bitter taste in the aftertaste. Terroir: clayey-siliceous and clayey-limestone. Harvest from vines that bloom on the hillsides and plateaus in the foothills of Verona. Organic. Tillage, mechanical and manual. The producer himself writes the following about his wine: «It is the fruit of harmony between grapes, land and a human hand.»

Floral nose of lily and white rose as well as stone fruit. On the palate a bit of peach, lychee and pear, very imperial, really nicely balanced acidity, decent complexity, clean and structured, bright and with a pretty long finish. For the price, it's fantastic.

Region
Chinon is the appellation covering wines produced around the historic town of Chinon, in the central Loire Valley. This area has been producing wine for many centuries, and although wines of all three colours are made there, the focus is now very clearly on red wines. The vineyards of the Chinon AOC cover the relatively steep banks of the Vienne as well as the less steep slopes running northward from the hills above Chinon to the Loire.
Grapes
Cabernet Franc is one of the major black grape varieties worldwide. It is principally grown for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the Bordeaux style, but can also be vinified alone, as in the Loire's Chinon.
